A young adopted girl is celebrating her seventh birthday by spreading kindness to other foster children. Laila, whose birthday is next week, decided to mark her special day by collecting clothes, books and toys and packing them in bags for youth in need.

Laila and her mother Colleen, who previously fostered 18 children, compiled more than 150 bags of supplies and dropped them off at two locations in Massachusetts, WCVB reported on Wednesday.

They left about 40 bags at Catie’s Closet, a nonprofit that aims to boost school attendance by providing clothing and toiletries to impoverished students. The rest of the more than 100 bags went to the Wonderfund of Massachusetts, another nonprofit that serves youth and supports foster children.

Laila posed with the bags of supplies, flashing a thumbs up and stretching her arms out. Another image showed a porch full of bags from Laila.
