TikTok has bought to us a world of hacks and tips for doing things more efficiently.

The video-sharing app has also taught us how to clean to optimum results.

One woman who has made a name for herself as a cleanfluencer has recently told viewers about an area in the bathroom they may be neglecting.

Kacie from Melbourne, who goes by The Big Cleaning Co online, showed how shower strips at the bottom of the door can collect dirt and grime.

The TikTokker said people can simply remove this strip and clean it up before putting it back.

Or, alternatively, those who have had it for a while can buy a new one from a retailer such as Amazon, eBay or Screwfix for a pretty nifty price.

‘Here’s a little something you might be neglecting when you clean your shower,’ the cleaner said.

‘There is a plastic strip at the bottom [of your shower].’

Kacie explained that the strip comes off pretty easily. But those who have never taken it off or haven’t removed it in a while may need to apply a bit of pressure to get it off.

She posted: ‘Once it’s off you can clean it. You can soak it, brush it, whatever.’

Viewers were amazed that the strip comes off and were keen to try it.

One person wrote: ‘I never knew this came off, you learn something new every day.

Another said: ‘Oh my God, this has changed my life, thank you so much.’

Some said they already cleaned the area while many said they noticed the grime built up but weren’t sure how to clean it, with one person saying they were ‘driven mad wondering what to do about it for ages’.

Now you know.
