Emmerdale star James Hooton has revealed why he won’t be having a Coronavirus vaccine.

James – who plays Sam Dingle in the ITV soap – has tweeted his reasons behind his decision.

James tweeted: ‘I’m 47yrs old. I take Vit c,d, zinc, b-12, Q10 and anti virals such as Andrographis, Sambucus, Curcumin, Along with regular exercise and a varied diet. I may not be taking a Covid vaccine. I may be labelled “anti vaxer” for being pro immune system, pro informed choice.’

James’ tweet has offered the opportunity for people to share their thoughts on the vaccination roll-out and whether they will be getting their jab when offered.

One follower said: ‘Finally, someone speaks out with another side to the story. People have got to realise everyone has their own reasons not to have the vaccine, not just this one too. All those having a go at people should consider that there are reasons involved, be kind.’

Many of James’ followers responded saying ‘Won’t be having one either buddy’ and ‘thank you for speaking out!!’

It also prompted a lot of people to say how it is James’ decision, but a few tweets also disagreed with James’ opinion. One person said: ‘Please take the vaccine for the sake of others.’

Most of James’ followers said how it was important to speak his views, but it was also vital to respect those that wanted to have the vaccination.
