It’s going to be a summer to remember, as relationships are tested, secrets are revealed and, the villainous Susie McAllister (Bridie Carter) pays the ultimate price.
Yes, in a shocking new storyline, a body washes up on the shore and, as the residents of Summer Bay gather nearby to find out what’s going on, they discover that said body is none other than Susie’s!
With several of the Bay’s finest having crossed paths with the schemer prior to her death, the suspect list is incredibly high.
But the question is: who killed Susie?
That remains to be seen!
Elsewhere, there’s more relationship drama for Tori Morgan and Christian Green, while Nikau Parata continues to focus on his image in an effort to increase his social media following.
It’s all kicking off in Summer Bay over the next few weeks, and here’s everything you can expect to see.
Who killed Susie?
It’s a story that has been months in the making, after villainous Susie McAllister (Bridie Carter) did a bunk with Leah Patterson (Ada Nicademou) and Justin Morgan’s (James Stewart) house deposit money.
Leah, in the weeks that followed, join forces with John Palmer (Shane Withington), who had his heart broken by manipulative Susie, and Stephen (Bren Foster), a fellow victim.
The trio set out to track down the woman who took everything from them, but had little luck in finding her.
Susie’s movements, however, become the subject of a police investigation in upcoming scenes, when a body washes up the shores of Summer Bay.
New cop Cash Newman (Nicolas Cartwright) is on the case, and he later confirms that the corpse is that of Susie!
With many of Summer Bay’s finest having motive enough to want Susie dead, there is no shortage of suspects.
Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) has been away on a well-deserved holiday, but she soon returns to find herself implicated in the killing.
The soap stalwart, who famously crossed paths with Susie several months ago, certainly has plenty of reason to want revenge, but is she actually capable of murder?
‘Irene was the last person to see Susie alive before she disappeared after Susie chloroformed her,’ explains actress Lynne McGranger.
‘Needless to say Irene is feeling a little bit nervous when the cops want to talk to her, because she doesn’t have the best track record! I think this is the third time Irene has been arrested for murder!’
If not Irene, could Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) be the culprit? Or could John, Stephen, Leah or Justin have had a role to play in Susie’s death?
Leah and Justin’s lives were turned upside down when Susie made off with their cash. Leah’s investigation into her disappearance has monopolised all of her time, much to Justin’s dismay.
Justin, meanwhile, is in the grips of addiction to painkillers, and in spite of Leah and Tori (Penny McNamee) both having questioned him over it, he remains in denial.
Upcoming scenes will see Justin explode, as he assaults Stephen, who he believes has been spending way too much time with Leah. Cash, having come to learn of the showdown, arrests him!
Will Justin get the help he needs?
Tori and Christian’s relationship woes
Tori has been left heartbroken over fiancé Christian Green (Ditch Davey) having repeatedly prioritised patient Rachel over their relationship.
The neurosurgeon, who technically died earlier this year when villainous Lewis tried to kill him, believes that he was saved by a higher power in order to rescue this Rachel, something which has left Tori concerned.
The duo’s relationship has suffered greatly over the past few weeks, and with Christian moving out, it’s safe to say that things are only going to get worse for the pair. Jasmine (Sam Frost), meanwhile, finds herself caught in the middle, and can’t help feeling guilty given that she brought Lewis into their lives.
Nikau and Bella over for good?
Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) and Bella Nixon (Courtney Miller) are enjoying the life of modelling and photography, but Nik has slowly been seduced into focusing more on his appearance – not to mention doing whatever he can to increase his social media following!
It’s safe to assume that these will continue to be his primary goals moving forward, but will any of his nearest and dearest find out about the pressure that he’s putting himself under? Tane’s (Ethan Browne) interest was piqued by his nephew’s focus on fitness a few weeks ago, but will Bella discover what her beau is up to?
Bella has had other priorities as of late, as she prepares for her approaching photo exhibition.
Both she and Nik have resolved to go on this journey together, but it’s safe to say that it’s only a matter of time before outside interference threatens to tear them apart. Will Sienna Blake (Rose Riley) have her wicked way at last?
Mackenzie’s downward spiral continues
Mackenzie (Emily Weir) has been through a lot over this past year, after she and Ari broke up. The manager of Salt subsequently discovered that she was pregnant, but in a cruel twist of fate, she lost the baby.
In the weeks that have followed, Mack has tried to hide her pain in a series of one night stands, much to the dismay of Dean (Patrick O’Connor).
More heartache for Martha and Alf?
Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) reunited with Martha (Belinda Giblin) following her time in a mental health residential program.
She’s doing much better. That is, since her son Kieran was arrested.
Little do they know, however, that Kieran has contacted Roo (Georgie Parker), claiming that he wants to reconnect with his family!
Home and Away’s ‘Who Killed Susie?’ story kicks off Monday July 26 at 1:15pm ad 6:30pm on Channel 5.
