Jessica M. Thompson Directing ‘Dracula’ Horror Movie ‘The Bride’ for Screen Gems

Various different Dracula projects are in the works, including The Last Voyage of the Demeter, a Renfield solo movie, and a new take on Bram Stoker’s novel from Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, and yet another upcoming movie has just been announced by Deadline today.

Jessica M. Thompson will direct The Bride for Screen Gems, with the Dracula-inspired film being described as “a contemporary horror thriller that tells the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet, only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot.”

Nathalie Emmanuel (“Game of Thrones”) and Garret Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday) have signed on to star. Hedlund, we assume, will be playing Dracula himself.

Blair Butler wrote the original script, with revisions by Jessica M. Thompson.
