During his playing days, Shaquille O’Neal was one of the best centers that the NBA has ever seen. He had numerous skills in his arsenal and used them wisely to win both individual and team accolades throughout his career.
The only thing that Shaq was not good at shooting free-throwing consistently. For his career, he shot an abysmal 52.7% from the charity stripe. Apart from that, during his prime, he was a dominant force on both the offensive and defensive end of the court.
Shaq himself is aware of his lack of skill in that department and he even joked about it one time.

“Me having a beautiful wife and great family and friends around me, all the money I’ve got, all the things that I’ve got, a Ferrari that I just ripped the top off of and turned into a convertible, the rings I got, the two mansions on the water, a master’s in criminal justice, I’m a cop, plus I look good.
“So to me, shooting 40 percent at the foul line is just God’s way of saying that nobody’s perfect. If I shot 90 percent from the line, it just wouldn’t be right.”
This is one of the most iconic quotes by Shaq. As for his career, Shaq had a phenomenal career where he won a lot of accolades.
Additionally, he played with some of the best players in the NBA as well. From Kobe Bryant to LeBron James, Shaq has played with them during certain times in his career.
After retiring from the league, O’Neal is now providing his insights about players and the events around the league on ‘NBA on TNT.’ Fans love to see him in a new role and he is doing a great job as well.
Most recently, he revealed that he once sabotaged his meeting with Nike. The reason? To sign with Reebok instead.
These incidents prove why Shaq might be a bit quirky at times, but he is a beloved player. What are your views on this? Feel free to share your honest opinions in the comments section below.
