Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice has spoken about his plans for the future on the show, saying he would ‘love’ to be partnered with a man after being linked with Piers Morgan.

The professional dancer impressed with Ranvir Singh last year, and is now up for the challenge of a same sex pairing in the next series.

Nicola Adams and Katya Jones became the first same sex couple on the show in 2020, and were forced to leave the show after Katya tested positive for coronavirus.

Speaking to The Mirror, Giovanni said: ‘It’s not down to me, but if the production people come to me and said “listen Giovanni we’d love you to be partnered with a man’ I’d say ‘yes’”.

‘I am more than ready to be partnered with a man,’ he added.

The 30-year-old Italian went on to say: ‘It would give me a chance to challenge myself with new routines, you have to think more about it. I love challenging myself.’

Ranvir previously told Giovanni that she would like to her Good Morning Britain colleague Piers to dance with him on the show.

Giovanni said: ‘I think Piers is a fantastic person. I really respect him. I would love to see him on the dancefloor.’

It’s not the first time the dancer has spoken about the prospect of dancing with the presenter.

He previously revealed he’d love to dance with Piers to destroy his confidence, saying: ‘I would love to dance with him, sexy Piers.

‘I would love to get down with him on the dance floor and see what he’s really made of. I would destroy his confidence in a week.’

It comes after the close partnership between Strictly pair Ranvir and Giovanni throughout the 2020 series had had tongues wagging.

The Good Morning Britain presenter and the professional dancer had found themselves linked to romance rumours time and time again during their time on the show.
