Hip-hop artist Meek Mill is under fire for some of the lyrics in his recent song, “Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe).” The verse in question, which features the lyrics “If I ever lack I’m goin’ out with my choppa, it be another Kobe,” has been deemed highly insensitive and disrespectful, even by Vanessa Bryant herself, who blasted Mill in a recent post on her Instagram story.
“Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”

Meek sent out a suspicious tweet a few days ago, but it’s unsure whether or not it has to do with that particular part of the song.

Kobe’s death his the NBA community pretty hard, but not worse than Vanessa and the rest of the Bryant family. Out of respect for them alone, Meek have probably been a little more careful with how he wrote those lyrics.
At this point, all he can do is apologize — though, that seems unlikely to happen anytime soon.
